Become a Host Family (Homestay Family)

Spanish Faster is always looking for warm and caring host families (homestay families) from various cities in Spain who have a room to spare for our homestay guests. We are especially looking for host families (homestay families) in these cities: Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Denia, Alicante, Sevilla, Granada, Cordoba, Salamanca and San Sebastian). 


Our homestay guests can be foreign exchange students (high school students and Erasmus university students), international students, adult travellers, backpackers, tourists and family groups.

Host family (homestay family) requirements

  1. You have a spare private bedroom furnished with a bed, desk and closet space. 
  2. You can provide a friendly, safe and clean living environment. 
  3. You enjoy meeting new people and making friends. 
  4. You are ready to open up your home to guests and share your hospitality and culture.

Who can be a Homestay Host (Host Family)?

Whether you are single, retired, a working professional or have a young family, you can be a homestay host (a host family).

Why become a host family?

There are many good reasons to become a host family. Here are some of them: 


  • Earn an extra income: It is a good way to earn an extra income in an enjoyable way by offering your hospitality.
  • Make friends and learn about other cultures: It is a fantastic way to make valuable  friendships from all over the world and experience and appreciate other cultures. At the same time, you will give others a chance to experience daily Spanish life and know more about Spain and Spanish people. You will thus contribute to foster intercultural  understanding and appreciation, making the world a better place. 
  • Host as per your convenience: You only host when you want to. You are not obligated to host when it is inconvenient for you for any reason. 
  • No experience needed: You can get started quickly. All you need to do is to fill in the Host Family (Homestay Family) Application Form and we'll contact you and brief you on all the steps. 
  • Full Support from us: Our staff based in Spain who will gladly provide you with the necessary advice, support and training to ensure the homestay experience is a nice and memorable one. We are at your side 24/7. 
  • Easy and Hassle-free: We take care of all the advertising, guest registration, rent payments and agreements so that you don't need to involve in any paperwork and can focus on hosting. 
  • Free registration: You don't have to pay any registration or membership fee to be part of our host family network.

How to become a Host Family

If you are interested to become a Host Family, here are the steps to follow:


STEP 1: Send us your Personal and Homestay Accommodation details:

  • EITHER Fill in and submit online our online Host Family Application Form
  • OR Submit by emailing the Word-version of Host Family Application Form


STEP 2: Send to us separately by email photos of your homestay accommodation. We specially need the following:

  • Photo of yourself (with your family members)
  • Photo of Bedroom(s) 
  • Photos of Toilet and Bathroom 
  • Photos of Living room or Common Area
  • Photos of the Kitchen
  • Any other photos that you think make your accommodation unique and attractive 


STEP 3: We will then schedule an interview with you and do a background check on you.


STEP 4: Our staff will also set an appointment for a house visit and check if your homestay accommodation meets our required criteria.
